Common Questions about Pacific Sounds Lodge

Sample daily itinerary: 

6:15: Cold breakfast/coffee/tea (granola, fruit salad, yoghurt)

7:30: Yoga/bear viewing/relax/sleep

8:30 Hot breakfast

9:30 Morning activity: kayak, hike, boat tour, etc.

12:30 Lodge lunch/bag lunch (if on a hike).

2:00 Afternoon activity: kayak, hike, boat tour, etc.

4:30 Charcuterie/snorkel/relax

6:00 Dinner

7:30 Evening games, live music, bonfire, hang out

Yes, we love having families at the lodge. While we often have children as young as two years old, the activities are best suited for ages five or more. 

Yes! Most of our bookings come in the form of group buyouts such as family reunions, friend gatherings, and milestone birthdays. The level of service and type of experiences can be curated to each group. 

Check in: We ask that guests arrive sometime between 3:00-5:00 PM.

Check out: We ask that guests check out by 10AM.

To book a stay at Pacific Sounds Lodge, we require a non-refundable 25% deposit of the cost of your stay before taxes.  The remainder of your payment is due 120 days before your arrival. For international guests we use the payment platform Flywire which allows guests the option of paying by credit card or bank transfer. 

Cancellation Policy:

-121 days or more prior to arrival:  25% non-refundable deposit.

-120-61 days prior to arrival: 50% non-refundable.

– 60 days or less prior to arrival: No refund.

*Please note that any non-refunded portion of your payment can be used as a credit toward another visit within one calendar year or transferred to another guest in your place. While highly unlikely, Force Majeure cancellations are the responsibility of the guest. We recommend that you purchase travel insurance. 

Guest Questionnaire: Approximately 30-60 days before your arrival we will send each guest in your group a questionnaire to ensure that we are aware of any dietary preferences or health considerations. It’s also a chance for us to understand any special goals you may have for your trip, or if you are celebrating a special milestone. 

Liability Waivers: Before your arrival we will send each adult guest a liability waiver that can be filled and signed digitally. While safety is our number one priority, we are required to have a signed form from each guest. 

While we compensate our staff the best we can within the industry, tips and gratuities are much appreciated! Gratuities are not included in your pricing. We recommend $50-75 per guest per day. 

Unfortunately due to interactions with wildlife and considerations for guest allergies, we do not allow for pets. 

What do you need to know

Pacific Sounds Lodge offers luxurious accommodations in a natural setting. Our lodge has five private guest rooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, heated floors, and comfortable furnishings. In addition to the guest rooms, we also offer a comfortable lounge area with a fireplace, a hot tub, and a dining room where guests can enjoy gourmet meals prepared using local, seasonal ingredients.

Pacific Sounds Lodge offers a wide variety of outdoor activities that allow guests to explore the natural beauty of the surrounding area. Some of the most popular activities include hiking, kayaking, and whale watching. We also offer cultural programming that provides guests with an opportunity to learn about the history and culture of the local First Nations people.

The food at Pacific Sounds Lodge is a highlight of many guests’ stay. Our gourmet cuisine features locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, expertly prepared by our talented chefs. We can accommodate a variety of dietary restrictions and preferences, so please let us know if you have any special requests.

Pacific Sounds Lodge is located in Bamfield, British Columbia, on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The lodge is accessible only by boat or seaplane. We can arrange transportation for you from nearby communities or airports, or you can make your own arrangements to get to Bamfield.
